About Ling's Letters
Ling's Letters is a monthly newsletter to promote learning, inspire action and encourage reflection on our lives, society and culture.
To send a letter is a good way to go somewhere, without moving anything but your heart. Phyllis Grissim-Theroux
For as long as I can remember, I've hand-written letters long before emails were invented. Letters were lengthy hand-written pages of anything and everything—streams of consciousness delivered in a paper envelope with a stamp.
My penpals came from far-flung places. A letter would have taken weeks, if not months, to swim the oceans, from Australia or Canada, to reach my postbox in Malaysia.
We'd write about our distant worlds, opening my tender young eyes to the wonders of new and exotic places. How our worlds can be so different and yet, there are somethings that remain the same: school, boys, pop stars, music, hopes, fears, worries, and dreams of how our adult life will turn out. Till today, all my letters were collected and kept in two big shoe boxes.
Now that letter writing is less common, it doesn't mean we shouldn't stay in touch!
Ling's Letters is a different kind of letter, a monthly digital newsletter where share stories and encourage reflection on our lives, society and culture. 💌
These letters will light up your inbox, bring joy and inspire you to take action in cultivating a more inclusive and compassionate society. That's my hope, at least.
Bonus! By subscribing to Ling's Letters, you can leave comments and start conversations with me or other subscribers on all our posts. What are you waiting for?
Joy and inspiration awaits! 🥰 Thanks for dropping by. 💐
